The majority of the images in this collection are photocompositions made with another purpose in mind. Originally they were to be used as backdrops for an animated graphic novel I had imagined but had none of the skills necessary to create. The ideas and little kernels of ideas for each of them were stored in little black bound note books over a period of years, sometimes with accompanying sketches but most times not.
There's always enough time still ahead to finally do that big project until there isn't. At that point you have a few hundred images and no where to go. A lot of these images have been used to make large format prints, both digital archival prints and antique photographic processes that are truly archival. A subset of the images lend themselves to relief printmaking methods such as woodcut and intaglio. In 2024 my focus is on woodcut, a process that forces you to simplify an image down to its core elements, remove tone and get your hands dirty. Its suspected to be the world's oldest print method. Of course, I am aware that most of the imagery that I generate would be best suited to an intaglio form of printmaking, we will see if there's enough time.
Any image shown can be acquired if interested. Digital archival prints are typical and are made in the process that was once refereed to as Giclee. These are generally 26" wide by whatever the height may be, usually between 12.5" and 16.5". Larger prints can be discussed.
Woodcuts and Carbon prints are made in editions and quantity available will be included in the image's description if available.
